I have grown up with style and wanderlust in my veins. My parents worked in the airline industry which allowed me to travel the world at a young age. This has given me such an appreciation for the beautiful world we live in. Traveling to new places and experiencing new things is the best way to grow. Luckily my hubby, Brian shares my sense of adventure. I love to be inspired by my surroundings.
My passion for fashion started at a young age when I paired my pink combat boots (sans shoe laces) with all of my girly dresses. My mom always let me dress myself and because of that I developed my own sense of style early on. I am always drawn to feminine pieces that I love to mix with something edgy (remember those combat boots?) It is true that style is the best form of self-expression. The clothes we wear have the ability to affect our mood and how other perceive us. Why wouldn’t we put our best
foot shoe forward?
My Blog Journey
In college at Oklahoma State (Go Pokes!) I studied Business – Entrepreneurship and Marketing. Entrepreneurship was what drew me to the business school at OSU. There has always been a desire in me to start something of my own and watch it grow. I haven’t always known what that would be but I knew that I wanted something that was my vision. Doing something that I am passionate about is what drives me. Life is so full of possibilities and it’s important to do what we love. Blogging seemed like a natural fit since I have always enjoyed writing and fashion.
With the support of my family and friends, I started Waketon Road as a platform to fuel this need for creativity in my life and to share the things that inspire me. I have always been passionate about creating beautiful things, whether that be an outfit, designing my home, or planning our next adventure. I love to spend hours over the details until it’s just right. My creative energy is what fuels me.
I am extremely grateful for the opportunities that have already come from me following my passion. I wouldn’t be able to do it without my incredibly supportive hubby and CPO (Chief Photography Officer) – Brian. It’s amazing what happens when you do what you love!
Blogging on Waketon Road gives me an opportunity to explore life in a new way. Seeing life through a lens helps you appreciate the beauty in every little corner. It feels so good to be inspired and to feel surrounded by possibilities. That’s really how life should be.
Thank you for your support and I hope you enjoy your stop at Waketon Road! To learn more about the meaning behind Waketon Road visit the Behind the Name page.
