Where to Stay in Provence

Our trip to Provence was amazing! Truly one of the best trips we have ever had and it was made that much better because of where we chose to stay. When I was researching where to stay in Provence, most people suggested having one place to call “home” in a central town in the region and to travel from there. I combed through so many amazing listings for AirBNB’s and different hotels, but knew I wanted something small and quintessentially French.

When I found the listing for Domaine Les Roullets I fell in love immediately. It was exactly what I had been looking for: small number of rooms, great location and perfectly Provencal decor. I knew we were going to enjoy our stay but from the moment we drove onto the property I never wanted to leave.

There are some places that just stay with you. Our weekend at Hambleton Hall is another one of those places that I just can’t forget. For me, it’s all about the property. I want to feel like I have a home-away-from-home. Somewhere comfortable that feels like ours, but still special enough to remind me I’m on vacation.

Domaine Les Roullets is such a special property. It’s tucked away surrounded by vineyards, groves and gardens. Vanessa was our host for the week and we could not have loved her more. She created the most beautiful breakfast spread every morning by the pool. Taking the time to match the fresh flowers to the day’s linens (a detail I always appreciate). She was always available for help with dinner reservations, recommendations on the day’s markets, or just a friendly chat.

Since we stayed at Domaine Les Roullets for our entire trip to Provence, we were able to fully enjoy everything that the property had to offer. We spent many afternoons cooling down in the pool after a morning filled with exploring. We never missed a breakfast the whole week. And you could usually find us tucked away somewhere in the garden every evening enjoying a glass of wine. But my favorite of all was our morning walks around the property.

Brian and I are generally pretty early-risers, even on vacation. We would wake up before breakfast and walk around the property while the other guests were still sleeping. It was cool and dewy and just beautiful in the morning glow.

Domaine Les Roullets is located in between Ménerbes and Oppéde which were our go-to places for dinner on the nights that we didn’t have plans. The property was easy to get to (especially once you know what you’re looking for) and made a great home-base for our travels. We couldn’t recommend it more! xo Bryn
