It really started to feel like fall this past week in Dallas! Every morning I wake up early to take my cup of tea out to the back patio and play with Bear – my high-strung, ball lovin’ German Shepherd. For the first time this season, I needed to pull out my slippers and coat. I love it! It’s those quiet, peaceful moments in the morning that I look forward to before my day starts.
With the cooler weather, comes the cozy knits. I have a large collection of sweaters but to me, each one is so different and can be worn so many different ways. My favorite style is always the chunky, loose-fitting cable knit. They are perfect by themselves, like I’ve worn here, or layered over shirts and under coats, like here. I recently found this cable crew neck (currently on sale) and love how versatile it is.
One thing I love about fall dressing is being able to wear all of my favorite pieces, like chunky sweaters, and the weather is still so beautiful that you don’t have to bundle up. My corduroy skirt (last seen here) is getting so much use this fall. I’m still in love with the rich color and how it pairs perfectly with all of my sweaters.
Last but certainly not least, we need to talk about over the knee boots! I have been hesitant to go full in with this trend because I wasn’t sure how I would like them. The one pair that I currently have (seen in this post) are amazing but such a challenge to put on. The last thing I want to do every morning is wrestle with getting my boots on when I’m running out of the door.
One thing I like to invest in is my shoes. It’s really true that once you have worn well made shoes, it’s hard to go back. There are just some styles that are worth a little splurge and boots are one of them. I wear them every day in the fall/winter months so I need a pair that is not only versatile but can hold up to the wear. These Stuart Weitzman Lowland boots are 100% worth their investment. The material is so supple and luxurious and slide on with ease. Something I wasn’t expecting in OTK boots.
I have so many different styles of black boots from ankle to OTK with almost every heel height, but I still decided that my money was best spent on the black pair. I couldn’t be happier with my choice and know I will get so much wear out of these beauties.
Hopefully the fall weather is finding you where ever you are this week. I did a guest Q&A on The Coffee Fella yesterday talking about my growing love for coffee so be sure to check out his blog. Thank you so much for stopping by! Happy Monday! xo Bryn
