My Spring Color Palette

Earlier this week I mentioned that I have chosen blue as the unofficial color for spring. My strategy every season is to find a color to build a wardrobe around. It’s so much easier to get dressed when you have a color scheme. When I travel I always pick a color scheme so that all of my clothes mix well. I do the same for the seasons. This doesn’t mean that I only wear one color for several months at a time, but I do like to stay consistent with the pieces I add to my wardrobe. Like I said, this season I gravitated to the lighter blue shades.

Since it’s been very easy for me to find this seasons “must-have” accessories in shades of blue, it seems like the retailers agree with me that blue is perfect for spring. On Monday I shared these amazingly comfortable wedges that I will be wearing with everything.

I recently found these wide-leg pants with a blue stripe and ordered them immediately. I can’t get enough of the wide-leg trend for spring and combine that with my blue theme, it was a no-brainer. They do stretch quite a bit after a full-days wear so you could probably go down a size if you are in between.

When I am looking for accessories for spring, I like to go for color. Having a bag in a fun shade can add so much more to an outfit. This Fossil crossbody is a great shade of Indigo in more of a pebbled leather style, but I also love this smooth light blue option. One of the reasons I love the lighter blue hues, is that it pairs so well with my denim. But it also goes beautifully with pastel shades of yellow and blush. Both are colors that I wear frequently in spring.

By picking one dominant color for the season, I can build a type of capsule wardrobe. Since I will never be able to do a full capsule wardrobe because I like shopping too much. This is the best way to make sure my seasonal clothes all work together. xo Bryn
