Holiday Decor

It’s my favorite time of year at home. I love coming home at the end of the day when it’s cold and dark outside and turning on all the Christmas lights throughout the house. It’s the best feeling to cozy up on the couch with my cup of tea and take in all of the holiday decor. I could stare at my Christmas tree all day. It’s the first thing I turn on each morning and the last light on in the house before bed.

This year I wanted to change up our decor a little. We recently painted our kitchen island blue so I wanted the holiday decor to coordinate. I didn’t want to go full blue and white Christmas decor so I decided to stay very neutral and add in hunter green. Hunter green is my color crush this season so it was natural choice. It also makes all the light blue details feel a little more festive.

I added a few little holiday touches with these ornaments from Pottery Barn. They light up and add a pretty little glow around the house.

Our mantel got dressed up with a little fresh garland and eucalyptus which smelled amazing for the first few days. I soaked the garland and eucalyptus for twelve hours before putting it up on the mantel. It has since dried out, but I got to enjoy the scent from fresh garland for a few days.

I also added a few twinkle lights on the mantel and the media stand. This gives me a soft glow all over our home at night. I keep all of our lights off and just turn on these. It’s so peaceful!

My favorite pink peonies always show up at Whole Foods in November and I go every couple of weeks to pick up a fresh bunch until they run out. They aren’t your typical Christmas flower but I love the fresh pink against all of the red and green.

I hope you are enjoying a little bit of rest and relaxation during the holidays. It can be easy to get caught up in the stress that comes with the end of the year. I encourage you to take a little time to stop and rest. Even if that means fifteen minutes of tree-gazing time! xo Bryn
