Road Trip to Hill Country

You know how you get so ingrained into your routine that you start to miss the beauty happening around you? Well Brian and I decided we needed to get out of town for a weekend to change it up and just enjoy this beautiful Texas spring.

We have been hearing a lot about Fredericksburg lately, so we loaded up the car and headed south!

It’s been a while since I have been on a true road trip and I have forgotten how much I enjoy them! It’s easy to sit in a car and watch the scenery pass by when everything is so green and the highways are lined with wildflowers.

We were lucky to find the most peaceful spot off the highway to let our fur baby, Bear run and play. It’s amazing how beautiful the Texas Hill Country is. The rolling hills are so fresh and green and the Texas sky is blue for miles.

When it comes to travel, I love to fly off to a new place but sometimes it’s nice to explore areas that are close to home. Texas has a lot to offer, so Brian and I have started planning more road trips for the future.

It was so special to be able to bring Bear with us. I love to travel, but I always have such guilt leaving him behind while we’re off on an adventure.

Traveling with fur babies can be a challenge, but I did a lot of research before our trip and found that most places welcome dogs, so I knew this would be a trip that we could all enjoy together!

Since we were going to be in the car for several hours, I wanted something comfortable to wear that would be something I didn’t need to change out of when we got to Fredericksburg. This gingham tank was perfect! I love all things gingham, especially when I’m traveling to wine country. I think I had three or four different gingham pieces in my suitcase for the trip. (We were only there 3 days!)

I wore my M.GEMI driving flats in the car, but kept my Hunter Boots close by the whole trip. With all the tall grass and fields of flowers I knew I would need them.

It’s so easy to plan a quick weekend getaway and break out of your routine! I’ll do a post about how I plan our trips this week to share with you. Have you been anyway fun lately?

Hope you all have a wonderful week! Thank you for reading!

Love that peplum top! You look so cute and happy in these pics. Sometimes a short weekend trip is just what the doctor ordered.
