Stir Crazy

This weekend was the perfect balance of work and play. Since we were traveling last weekend we had a few things that we needed to take care of since Brian will be leaving again soon for work. It’s always important to me to mix in a little adventure on the weekend. Especially a weekend that is busy with errands. I love to have something fun to look forward to on my days off. Don’t we all?!

Last week I was scrolling through Instagram and stumbled upon the cutest bakery with a yellow door that caught my eye. After a little investigating I discovered it was called Stir Crazy and located on Magnolia Street in Fort Worth. An area I have been wanting to check out for a while now. I knew we needed to take my car in for a service this weekend which would put us half way to Fort Worth. So with the promise of a good cup of coffee and some delicious baked goods, Brian agreed to venture south with me.

We arrived a little after they opened and had the place almost all to ourselves. We both agreed the decor was perfect. Everything from the crushed velvet couch to the fresh flowers on the table made me want to stay all day. We ordered a couple of individual pies and settled in. We weren’t prepared for how cold it really was that morning so we were happy for a cozy spot to stay a while.

February is always a challenging month for me. It can be one of the coldest months for Dallas, but by this point I’m so tired of winter. My mindset when I’m getting dressed is that if I dress for warmer weather, then it will be warm. Of course that’s not how it works. But It makes me feel like spring is coming. So lately I have been reaching for pieces that make me feel like spring is just around the corner.

My trench coat is a staple for any season. It’s the best piece for transitioning from your heavy winter coats to something more spring appropriate. When I layer it over a warm sweater I find that it keeps me warm enough in the crisp mornings, but feels perfect in the afternoon when the sun warms things up.

I have been so drawn to olive lately, so I picked up this sweater over the weekend. I love olive paired with brighter colors like this pink bag and my yellow shoes. Since most of my outfit was neutral I wanted to have a little more fun with my accessories. This goes back to me willing it to be spring.

After our little indulgence at Stir Crazy I was ready to get back to our weekend errands. Which included less glamorous things like laundry and grocery shopping. But like everything in life, you need balance. xo Bryn

I love the Magnolia area in Ft Worth-actually a lot of places in Ft Worth give a completely different vibe than Dallas! It’s a nice change. You look adorable, as always! Love the pop of yellow!
