Winter White

While most of the East coast was covered in snow this past week, Dallas had no such luck. Now before you go telling me  that we’re lucky to not be digging our way out of the snow, let me just say I really want a snow day! For those of you not from Texas, a snow day in Texas literally means a snow day. If we get snow it usually only falls for a few hours, lightly dusting the ground and then the whole city shuts down. It’s the one day of the year that we get to use the excuse “I can’t get out of my (15′) driveway!” But sadly, no snow for us so I’m having to find my winter white elsewhere.

I have always loved wearing white in winter. It’s so clean and fresh, like pure snow. See there I go again, dreaming about the snow. But I have been looking for the perfect winter white coat for a long time. If you have seen Maid in Manhattan, when J.Lo put on that gorgeous all white outfit and walked around Central Park, I completely fell in love. I remember thinking how chic and sophisticated she looked. Ever since then I have been looking for a similar white coat.

I found this coat from Ann Taylor and wanted it immediately. My favorite camel coat was from Ann Taylor and I loved the quality so I knew this would be a great coat.  Brian was sweet enough to buy it for me for Christmas and I’ve been wearing it ever since.

Having a white coat is a great alternative to the standard black. It’s classic like a camel coat, but feels so much more vibrant than the usual dark colors. I decided against pairing it with black and went with my favorite luggage colored accessories. Including my latest Cuyana obsession… this tote, which was another Christmas gift.

It’s been a while since we’ve had a snow day in the Dallas area. It’s been really cold, but still no snow. I always find myself craving snow this time of year. Wearing my winter white helps, but it’s not the same. What about you… did you get snow? xo Bryn

You should totally come to NYC when it snows…but it has to be as soon as it snows, because after a few a hours it’s a mess here;)
