Christmas Traditions at the Tree Farm

There are a few Christmas traditions that I will always look forward to. Decorating my home for the holidays is one of my favorite things about this time of year. And everything revolves around the tree. I still have so many fond memories from my childhood of going with my parents to pick out our Christmas tree. I always loved going to the tree lot and walking down the rows of trees, looking for the perfect one. Brian and I opted for a fake tree but that doesn’t mean that we miss a trip to the tree farm.

Every year we take a trip to a local tree farm to bring home a few things to help decorate our home. I love having live wreaths and garland in my home. The scent is just the best! That’s what I miss the most about having a real tree. So this year we went to a cute little tree lot to pick up a few things.

I look forward to doing this every year. It always gets me into the Christmas spirit. I love seeing all of the families picking out their trees. Since we already have our tree we opted for a couple of wreaths and a kissing ball, complete with mistletoe. Definitely not something we needed, but it was too cute to pass up!

My sweatshirt and scarf have been the first things I reach for lately. I even took them with me to Disney World. They are so fun and festive, and even though it’s still pretty warm during the day, I feel Christmas-y when I’m wearing them! I am not usually someone who wears sweatshirts, but I made an exception for this one. It’s incredibly soft and because it’s slightly cropped it feels less boxy.

What are some of your favorite Christmas traditions that get you into the holiday spirit? Do you get a real tree every year or have you gone to a fake tree? Every year that we go to the tree farm I think that maybe next year we’ll bring home a real one. But for now, I’m happy with my kissing ball. xo Bryn

    OMG I love this!
I typically always decorate the tree with my mom and sister. Since my sister and brother in law have a house now, we go there to help! This year I also helped Matt’s mom and sister decorate their real tree — it was so much fun!

I love this post and the Christmas tree background! You look adorable as always. I bought a flocked tree this year and I just love it! It’s replacing a fake tree I had for 35 years that had lost more needles that it had!

Oh my gosh this tree farm looks adorable! I love that even with a fake tree you still find ways to bring in live pieces into your decor – I need to find a way to do that in my apartment!
