How To Style Burgundy Accessories

If there is one color I have not been able to get enough of lately, it’s burgundy. It’s been my go-to for everything from accessories to monochromatic looks. Usually this time of year I’m all about true red, but this year it’s all about burgundy. You have seen a couple looks on the blog already that fall into the maroon/burgundy family. The velvet leggings from this look are some of my favorite. But the real reason for my burgundy obsession stems from these boots.

I bought these boots about a month ago and have loved pairing them with different colors, like the mauve sweater and marigold skirt from this look. This week I was inspired to share a couple of different ways to style burgundy accessories. Burgundy is my fall and winter equivalent to blush. I consider them both neutrals but I will gravitate more towards the darker colors in the cooler months. It’s been fun playing with different colors to wear with these boots. But I instantly fell in love with the combination of the burgundy boots with this blue top.

This top is so soft that I ended up getting a couple of different colors, including the mauve. This shade of blue is one of my favorites to pair with rich colors. I wore my blue tote with this rust color sweater here. I believe in having fun with color. You don’t need to feel like you can’t mix your favorite colors together. The trick is just sticking with two colors and keeping everything else neutral. My bag and shoes are the same color which makes the blue stand out. The black jeans make sure that the colors aren’t fighting with each other.

If you aren’t quite convinced on wearing burgundy accessories as your neutral and pairing it with color, then go monochromatic. You can’t ever go wrong with a monochromatic look. The burgundy sweater is the perfect complement to these accessories versus the contrast from the blue. It also happens to be super soft!

Fossil was kind enough to send me this Maya Hobo that I have completely fallen in love with. I have this bag in a couple different colors, but nothing compares to this gorgeous burgundy. I think I partially love it because of the strap, too. The hunter green and blush pink piping just make the bag. It’s currently out of stock but more are available here (on sale).

Having burgundy accessories definitely makes it a little easier to incorporate more of this shade into your wardrobe. But with the holidays quickly approaching I am looking forward to wearing my burgundy with red and also winter whites. There are lots of possibilities, so you will definitely be seeing more burgundy on the blog soon. xo Bryn
