Two Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

Thanksgiving is almost here and I’m so ready for all of the delicious food. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. If I’m being totally honest it’s because I really love stuffing. I also love being able to spend time with my friends and family.  I know it’s cliché but this time of year makes me even more grateful for the people in my life. Brian won’t be home for Thanksgiving this year so I’ll be with my parents and our family friends. I’m still deciding on what Thanksgiving outfit I want to wear. I usually take any holiday as an excuse to get a little more dressed up, but I also love to be comfortable. If you are like me and are still deciding on what you want to wear, I thought I would share two options with you for what to wear for Thanksgiving.

I love to pull burgundy, burnt orange, and mustard hues into my Thanksgiving outfit. It makes me feel like I am getting the most out of my fall wardrobe before the Christmas colors take over. This year I’m deciding between two cozy sweaters. For my first option I went with this dark mauve pink cardigan. Burgundy has been such a popular color this fall so I was inspired to create a look by pairing the mauve pink with a few of my burgandy pieces.

I kept the base layer of the look neutral with the black turtle-neck and the faux suede skirt (last seen here). The burgundy bag and boots helped to tie everything together. This bag is one of my favorite styles. I have it in navy and a striped canvas but the strap on this one makes it so unique. I love the hint of light pink and forrest green in the piping. This little detail opens up so many possible color combinations.

This Thanksgiving outfit is on the dressier side, which I’m not sure is the direction I want to go this year. My second option is this burnt orange cardigan. I am always drawn to a longer cardigan with a knee-high boot. This is the more comfortable of the two options. With a long cardigan I can even switch out the jeans for leggings – AKA Thanksgiving pants!

These boots are one of my most recent purchases. While I absolutely love the look of them I am slightly disappointed in the quality. They are very comfortable and I got them on sale, but they started peeling after the first wear. I decided to keep them because it just gives the boot a more “distressed” look. I would only recommend these if you are looking for a boot that will be great for the season. If you want to invest in a better quality I love these.

To add a little more color to this look I chose this blanket scarf that has pops of red, blue and yellow and this reversible tote. This tote is such a great idea! I’ve had reversible totes before but always the kind that you turned inside out. This one is red on one side and burgundy on the other. Talk about a bag that can do double-duty! The leather is stiff so the bag has a little more structure than a typical tote. Definitely add this to your Christmas list!

Which Thanksgiving outfit should I wear? Let me know what you think! I hope you have a wonderful holiday however you are celebrating! xo Bryn

I love both looks on you! So pretty! I wish I could wear the burnt orange & golds! But as a fair red- blonde, I can wear the burgundy’s & that suits me just fine, since it’s so popular this season. And, I don’t know what I’d do without my plaid blanket scarf! Thanks Vryn for the suggestion, Bryn!
