It’s hard to explain why I love pleated skirts so much. They probably aren’t something most people are immediately drawn to. There is a slight touch of “granny style” with a pleated skirt, but to me they are very chic. I love them for walking around a new city (seen here) or for a fun holiday party (seen here and here). Pleated skirts are all the rage around the holidays and I’m not a bit surprised. They are the perfect way to add a little more glam to your holiday style.
I found this dark green pleated skirt recently (currently on sale) and felt like it would be a great occasion piece. With all of the events that happen around this time of year, I always love to have a good piece I can fall back on. Especially when I don’t know the dress code. The sheen in the fabric makes this skirt easy to dress up for a holiday party.
Over the weekend we had cooler weather, so I decided to pair the skirt with boots and a cropped sweater. I had worn a similar look the week before to the Cuyana store opening in Northpark Mall in Dallas. If you have followed me for a while you have probably noticed my love for Cuyana. I discovered them a few years ago and have been hooked ever since!
Cuyana’s motto is “Fewer, Better things” and this has really changed the way I think about the pieces I purchase. The bag I’m wearing with this outfit is from Cuyana. I love the classic, simplicity of their designs. I always prefer to purchase pieces that are versatile and that aren’t too trendy. When you have a few pieces in your wardrobe that you can style multiple ways, I think you are much better off than having a closet full of trendy items that don’t work together.
This pleated skirt is a great example of a piece that can be worn in several different ways. I already see it with a camel sweater and gold accessories for the holidays. It’s also cute with a graphic tee and a moto jacket. With so many options, it’s definitely a holiday wardrobe must-have. Xo Bryn
