Why You Need A Community

A couple of weekends ago I spent a quick 36 hours in Nashville with some of my favorite blogger babes. What started as an Instagram comment pod (yes that’s a thing) turned into a group of friends. Even though most of us had never met face-to-face before this weekend we created a community of support through Instagram. I’ve talked about the importance of having a community on the blog before, but it feels all the more real to me after a weekend with these lovely ladies.

Blogging can be very isolating and challenging. It’s a very saturated market and it can easily feel like there’s not enough room for everyone. I have always disagreed with this, but that doesn’t mean the pressure to stand out doesn’t get to me. Like in anything in life, having cheerleaders behind you makes it so much easier to push through the difficult times. My friends and family are beyond supportive. But when I get frustrated with the latest Instagram algorithm change, they don’t feel my pain. Not like this group of girls!

We come from all different parts of the country, different backgrounds but we have common passions that bring us together. With any group of friends we all have our unique personalities but we support each other and that’s something I am always grateful for. I’ve learned from them, been inspired by them and have grown with them. I’ll link to each of their blogs below so you can check them out, too!

The weekend went by too quickly for me since I had to cut it short to get back to work. While we were there we had the opportunity to work with a couple amazing photographers and boutiques. All of our outfits are from Vestique. Don’t they all look great together? We didn’t even plan that. Here is the link to my dress for you.

Anytime that women can build each other up and celebrate our strengths is a win. I have always believed that community over competition breeds success for everyone. This isn’t limited to blogging. It’s so important to have a community of people who support you and want you to be your best. Another person’s success does not detract from any success of your own. So cheer them on and watch that kindness come back to you! xo Bryn

Special thank you to Brandon Keith Photography for these amazing photos.

  4. I totally agree with you! Blogging can be so isolating because it seems like no one blogs in your area, and it’s all very self based. But it’s good that you got to meet up with those gals. You guys all look so good together!!
