Set The Tone For The Week: Getting Through The “Monday Blues”

It’s been the most productive weekend! My weekends have been so busy lately with all of the travel and the projects I have been working on. I haven’t really been able to spend a weekend at home catching up on things around the house. I enjoy everything that goes into creating content for the blog, but I also love when a weekend of down time comes around. It feels so good to wake up in the morning with nowhere to go. I spent the weekend working on our backyard, creating a space that I can enjoy every morning (before it gets too hot).

Brian is back at work so I’m back to my routine around the house. I always miss him when he’s away so I try to keep my routine filled with things that make me happy! Sunday mornings are usually my favorite weekend days. Which is strange considering Sunday is my Monday (I go in at noon). However I spend my Sunday morning always sets the tone for the week.

I love waking up early on Sunday because the rest of the world is still sleeping. I head to the grocery store to pick up a treat for breakfast and groceries for the week. When Brian is away I am very good about making myself tea at home every day rather than running to the coffee shop. But on Sunday’s I treat myself. I think it’s important to indulge at the beginning of the week, just with something small.

So often we focus on “the Monday’s” and struggle with the return of the workweek. I definitely have my days where I mourn the end of the weekend, but that’s why I try to make the beginning of my week something fun. It doesn’t have to be anything big. I grab a latte and a fresh bunch of flowers for my coffee table. This sets the tone for the week and helps get me excited about the new possibilities.

Creating habits that help us enjoy our routine is so important. No one’s life is perfect and we all have things that we don’t look forward to. Starting my week off with something that I enjoy energizes me and prepares me for what’s next! So here’s hoping your week is off to a great start, too! Thank you as always for stopping by! xo Bryn

I absolutely agree! So important to start the week off on a good note even if it involves something little like treating yourself to coffee or tea! It can make a huge difference in how the rest of the week goes. Have a great week 🙂

I love the idea of treating myself at the beginning of the week as opposed to the typical at the end. I’m excited to incorporate this into my weekly routine! Great post!
