Beach Time in Florida

We’re back home from our trip to Florida with my family. It was just the break I needed! We stayed with my aunt and uncle who live around Pensacola and enjoyed everything the area has to offer. Which was pretty much great food and even better company. I haven’t been to visit in a couple of years and this was the first time that Brian was also able to come.

The first day we arrived we were greeted by beautiful sunshine so we headed straight to Perdido Key for lunch by the ocean. We ate at The Gulf which is constructed from old shipping containers and sits right on the water. The palm trees overhead sheltered us from the sun and the breeze from the water made it the most heavenly spot. We lingered there for a while, catching up on life and enjoying the scenery.

After lunch we drove over to Johnson’s Beach to dip our toes in the water. We weren’t planning on a full beach day but we didn’t want to waste the sunshine. The Florida beaches are just so serene. I love the dunes with the whispy grass and the soft white sand. The water was a bit turned up from the tropical storm in the gulf so it wasn’t quite as blue as usual but still beautiful all the same.

I could watch the waves crash against the shore for hours. It’s so peaceful to be by the ocean. We were all so surprised that the beaches weren’t more crowded being so close to the holiday weekend. There were a few other families near by, but for the most part we were very secluded.

I had worn this look on the plane and decided not to change when we arrived. The linen shirt and beach pants were so breezy that I felt perfectly comfortable from the plane to the beach. I love beachwear, especially linen. I don’t want any clingy fabric with all of the humidity that comes with being by the ocean.

Being near the ocean is always good for the soul. It refreshes you in so many ways! Not to mention a few days with the people you love the most. What could be better than that!? xo Bryn
