Palm Print for Summer

Well it’s officially summer! We’ve been experiencing the heat wave for a while now but I am always happy to officially welcome summer. It’s the season of beach getaways, palm print and a sun kissed glow. Even though I don’t get to enjoy summer like I did when I was in school, there is something about it that brings back a sense of freedom. The sun stays up past nine in the evening making the days feel full of possibility. Everyone is always busy with travel plans and exciting adventures. It’s just a fun season!

Brian and I will be heading to the beach next week with my family and I am so excited. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to visit my aunt who lives in the Gulf so it will be wonderful to spend time with everyone. I love visiting beach towns because of the easy lifestyle. It always feels so relaxing, even if you’re not staying at a resort on the water. The palm trees and warm ocean air are just good for the soul.

Palm print has been everywhere recently. You can’t scroll through Instagram these days without seeing a palm print flat or someone’s apartment with palm print wallpaper. It’s a perfect summer print for obvious reasons. It’s cheerful and instantly makes you dream of summer days. As much as I love palm print, I haven’t purchased anything with it, until I saw this little dress.

I found this dress and originally bought it for New Orleans but didn’t end up wearing it. I love the print but since it’s an A-line I wanted to be able to cinch my waist with a belt. This silhouette is not flattering on an hour-glass figure like mine if you don’t highlight your waist. But with a belt it’s a great summer dress. I can also wear it without the belt just for a cover-up since it’s so easy to pull on.

Pairing the dress with my straw bag and woven leather sandals make the whole look very summery. I recently picked up these sandals at DSW for under $50 and I have been wearing them with everything. They’re a great summer shoe and very comfortable.

Do you have any fun summer plans? Even if you’re just staying home I love planning staycations or fun summer adventures on the weekends. It gives you the taste of freedom and excitement we had during the summer when we were younger. Hope you are having a great week! Thanks so much for stopping by! xo Bryn

  3. So cute Bryn! I do love palm print but haven’t invested in anything yet! Seems like there’s so much to choose from, sometimes I get overwhelmed with the options!

This dress looks SO good belted! And I’m NOT ready for the NYC disgusting heat, but I do love all of the daylight we get!
