The Fossil Q Watch

I’m not someone who has to have the “latest and greatest” when it comes to technology. I’m perfectly happy skipping a generation on my phone or not having the newest HD TV. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t want to keep up with advancing technology, but just in my own way. Smart watches are great for people who are on the go and need to be in constant communication. I still like checking the time on a classic time piece and catching up with email on my phone.

When the new Fossil Q watch arrived my initial reaction was just excitement over finally having a leather band watch in the classic luggage color. It wasn’t until I started playing with the watch that I realized what a gem it really was! As I mentioned, I’m not much of a smart watch person. I don’t want to be distracted by notifications scrolling across my wrist while I’m at work. But I do like some of the features. That’s where I think Fossil read my mind.

The Fossil Q watch is a Hybrid. It’s the perfect blend of smart watch technology with classic timepiece design. I am wearing the Q Accomplice in Luggage Leather. The watch pairs with your smart phone (both IOS and Android) to track things like your daily fitness goals, your sleep and controls your music. By downloading the App you get access to all of the data from the watch, like how many steps you took.

My favorite feature, though has to be that I can set up to 6 favorite contacts. When I receive a text from the person I have assigned as number 2, the watch vibrates and both of the hands on the watch move to point to number 2. The hands stay on number two long enough for me to check my watch to see what number and then they move back to the time. I love this feature because I know that the person assigned to number 2 has contacted me but I don’t get distracted and start reading any notifications.

It’s the perfect watch for someone who isn’t quite wanting to jump into the smart watch, but wants to elevate the functionality of the watch. You can personalize the settings of the watch for what you are most in need of. For example, I have Activity, Notifications and Date assigned to the buttons on the right side of the watch. When I press the button for the date the hands move to the date. I can also leave the camera open on my phone and use the watch to take a photo! There are so many great features in the Fossil Q watch and the watch itself is such a classic timepiece. I really am obsessed!

If you are like me and want to integrate a little more technology into your life, but still like the look of a traditional watch I highly recommend checking out the Fossil Q series. There are a few different styles, including stainless steel options.  Most of the styles come in under $200 making them a total steal! Have you made the jump to a smart watch? Let me know! xo Bryn

  4. I am SO in love with my watch. The notification feature is fantastic – people in my office were so in shock that it was a smart watch (they actually didn’t believe me).

Okay this watch is actually right up my alley! I’m not a huge fan of smart watches {ugly and distracting}, but I love the idea of knowing who texted me without actually having to check my phone! What a great idea!

Gorgeous! I love these pictures too! I have been on the fence about a smart watch for a while now and this seems seriously like the perfect hybrid. I love the look of a classic watch but like the convenience of the smart watches. This is so cool!!
