The Embroidery Trend

With so many different trends constantly emerging it can be hard to navigate your way through the path of personal style versus being “en vogue.” This is something I have dealt with personally. We all have a signature style that is unique and it’s important to stay true to it. Don’t get me wrong, I can jump on board with a trend as fast as anyone. But I have tried to find ways to keep my signature style while playing up the trend.

I mentioned in this post last week that embroidery is such a huge trend for spring and summer. We’ve seen the revival of the embroidered jeans that take me back to my middle school days. There is also no shortage of embroidered tops. With options ranging from the gingham top from last week to this ruffle top, there are plenty of ways to bring the trend into your wardrobe.

With so many options it can be overwhelming to try to stay within your style roots. Since I love feminine and romantic pieces I gravitated towards this ruffle, embroidered top. It’s my interpretation of the embroidery trend without going for the edgier side.

I really started noticing embroidery was taking off the last couple of seasons with Gucci leading the way. The handbags, shoes, and denim jackets made such a splash that we’ve seen it trickle down. Major design houses always inspire the more attainable brands to create their own versions. Making it easy to incorporate similar aspects into your own personal style. I love this pretty dress with the bell sleeve. These embroidered mules are also high on my wish list.
