Nautical Stripe Sweater

I’m not sure if it’s because Brian is a sailor, or that I have always loved the ocean or maybe it’s just because I really, really like stripes, but it’s safe to say I love a classic nautical look. Nautical stripes have been a fashion staple for decades. I have purchased many navy and white striped sweaters over the years. It’s a spring style that never fails me.

This year it was time to replace my well-worn and well-loved nautical stripe sweater. Lucky for me there is never any shortage of navy and white, especially in spring. The yellow accent stripes in this sweater were really what sealed the deal. It’s just enough to freshen up this classic combination with a touch of what’s trending. Yellow has certainly shown it’s going to be around for the season, so I loved the twist.

A nautical stripe sweater is at the top of list for spring must have’s because it can be worn so many ways. I have already worn this same sweater with cropped white jeans, my black pencil pants to work and seen here with my navy skirt. My skirt is an old Loft purchase but I have linked similar options below.

Since the hints of yellow are very subtle and could easily be missed, I knew I wanted my accessories to play up the citrus. My little yellow bag is one of the best purchases I have made this season. It’s no secret around here that I have been loving yellow, but I’m not sure that it’s a color I will wear on repeat forever. This bag from Mango is under $40 so it was the perfect compromise of being on trend, but not requiring an investment.

My sailor is heading back out to sea again soon, and today is our third wedding anniversary. So I wouldn’t be able to let today’s post pass without saying a quick thank you to him. Brian makes this blog, as well as many things in my life, completely possible. He always amazes me with his love and support, no matter where he is in the world. I could not be happier to be doing life with my best friend.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you are having a wonderful week! xo Bryn

LOVING this look. And I am right there with you- not sure if it is my love of sailing, stripes or the slight french influence- but I adore all things navy, white & striped! Adore this look. And happy anniversary!

Beautiful look Bryn! I honestly don’t know anyone who doesn’t like stripes. I keep looking for that perfect, elastic striped t-shirt. Without much success I must admit. Let me know if you spot something similar.

I love a good nautical look! The sweater is perfect for spring, and would be fantastic for a day at the beach, because it would keep you warm when the wind gets chilly!
