Soaking up Spring

I’ve said it before but it’s truly my favorite time of year in Texas. I love Texas in the spring because it is the most vibrant green for miles and the weather is absolutely perfect. Spring doesn’t last long here since our heat arrives in May, so I try to take advantage of it while I can. This means getting out to enjoy the sun and blooms as much as possible. Our spring blooms can disappear quickly so I always feel like I’m in a race with time to make sure I’m soaking up as much as possible.

Over the weekend, Brian indulged my craving for sun and flowers and we spent the afternoon wandering around the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. We have been before back in the fall but I knew I wanted to go back in the spring. The Japanese Garden is the only garden that requires an entry fee but it is completely worth the visit. It’s such a peaceful garden that transports you miles away from Fort Worth.

My goal for the visit was to see all of the cherry blossom trees that fill the garden with clouds of pink. Sadly we were on the tail end of the blooms but it was still beautiful to see sprinkles of pink amongst the green. We were told that they typically bloom mid-march so we’ll try again next year!

This spring I can’t seem to get enough of blue and yellow! Blue is alway a go-to for me but I love how it feels so fresh when paired with a vibrant yellow. I purchased this adorable yellow crossbody (it’s under $40) recently and have been wearing it with everything! I also love this one with a little embroidery.

My sweet eyelet, peplum top is a new arrival from Loft. I am absolutely loving their current collection. There are so many amazing eyelet pieces like these shorts that go with my top. This one shoulder blush eyelet dress would be perfect for Easter, too!

I could spend all day in gardens. Brian is very patient with me! They are just so inspiring to me. All of the different colors and shapes of the foliage. It always makes me think about different ways to pair colors and patterns together. Blue with yellow is a great combination, whether its navy and bright yellow or pastels.

How are you soaking up your spring days? Hope you are all having a wonderful week! Thank you so much for stopping by! xo Bryn

Spring is short lived here in Nebraska too so I always feel the same way- trying to soak up as much of the beautiful spring weather as I can before the hot humid days set in! The botanical garden looks beautiful, what a fun day!

I love going to the gardens! Even though you were at the tail end of the cherry blossoms, I still see them in the photos and they look beautiful!

Spring is my favorite season, too! I love the gorgeous flowers that bloom, but I also love that it’s not super hot haha! Also, I’m dying over those amazing gingham flats… think I need a pair!
