As I mentioned in Monday’s post, I have been so inspired by the color red recently. It’s not a color that I usually wear in spring, so I wanted to challenge myself to find a few different ways to style red this season. On Monday, I shared this darling gingham skirt. Gingham is a spring staple, but red is a little more bold than the usual blue hues I tend to buy. Today I want to focus more on bringing red into your spring wardrobe with accessories.
I think we can all agree that we love a good stripe (just wait for Friday!), and this classic tee from J.Crew is a wardrobe staple. I have this style tee in a few other color combinations and I love the quality and the fit. A good tee can be hard to find, so when I find one that I really love, I buy a few colors. Red, white and blue is always a fun combination, but I really love this one because of the aqua shade of blue with the vibrant red.
While this tee is fun, it’s not enough to make an outfit stand out on its own. That’s where the accessories come in. My little red crossbody is always a fun way to add a little more color to my outfit. You can see how it totally elevated this blue bell sleeve top in this post. My red sunglasses are always fun and make me feel so vintage.
My blue loafers are a recent splurge from M.Gemi. I talked about this exact shoe last year when I purchased my blush pair in this post. I received an early hint that these beauties would be available again and I jumped at the opportunity to add another color to my shoe collection. M.Gemi shoes are hand-made in Italy so there are limited quantities. I love the high quality craftsmanship and the beautiful designs. This is now my fourth pair of M.Gemi shoes and I know it won’t be the last.
Red is such a powerful color. It brings out a sassier side to me, that I don’t always show. A red lip makes you feel like you can take on anything! This matte color from Kylie Cosmetics is such a pretty shade. It’s extremely long-wearing! Seriously, you’re going to have to scrub to get it to come off, but it’s nice during the day to not have to worry about smudges.
This look is a great example of how accessories can be the cherry on top! Going bold can be fun, especially when red is involved. Do you feel different when you wear red? Hope you are having a great week! See you on Friday! xo Bryn
