Florals for Spring

The other day I watched Devil Wears Prada for probably the hundredth time. Miranda Priestly’s famous “Florals… for spring? Groundbreaking!” will always be one of my favorite lines. It’s so funny and so true. Spring has some other great patterns like stripes and gingham, but there is something about a great floral print that is so quintessential spring. I always find myself getting sucked back in to buying all of the floral prints every year.

The secret is out that I love flowers so when I saw this flowy, floral blouse from Loft I snatched it up! It’s my favorite shade of blush and the pretty spring floral pattern just makes me happy. I love finding things that I can wear both to work and off duty. It’s a similar style to the solid blouse I wore in this post that is such a great wardrobe staple.

I wore this look over the weekend to Sunday brunch with my hubby. We have a little Parisian Café inspired bakery that we love going to on the weekends for breakfast. I work on Sundays so it’s a perfect way to extend my weekend a little longer before going into the office. Also, who doesn’t love to start their week with a chocolat au pain and a latte?!

It was cooler again this weekend so I grabbed my trench coat as an extra layer. I’m amazed at how much I have been using this trench lately. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised considering how much blush I wear, but it really has been a great addition. There are a couple options out for spring like this one from Banana Republic. A trench coat is a spring must but it’s even more fun in a pretty pastel shade.

I had to contain myself from going a little overboard with the all of the florals the other day at Loft. They have some really fun new arrivals with bright prints. I’ve linked a few of my favorites below. The yellow prints are calling my name!

What are some of your favorite prints to wear during the spring? Are you all about the gingham? I actually love pairing my stripes with a pretty floral print. The best part about spring dressing is mixing fun patterns to create a whimsical feel that you can’t always do the rest of the year. Hope you’re having a great week! xo Bryn

I am seriously loving the florals, but I think I need to add a coloured spring coat into my wardrobe. This year was the year of coats it seems and even though I added a bunch to my collection, I still have a ton more that I plan on buying this year!
