The Blouse

It’s that sweet time of year where the bitter cold is starting to fade away and the fresh spring air is blowing in. And in the case of Texas, it is blowing in with full hurricane-force winds. But I can’t complain. I am so ready for spring! As someone who loves flowers, the bare winter has gone on long enough. Bring on the spring blooms!

I have been filling my closet with anything soft and pastel in anticipation. I’m ready to trade in the dark neutrals for my pinks and creams. My favorite color combination right now is a soft blush paired with cream. It’s a very romantic look which is perfect for the week surrounding Valentine’s Day.

I have been very into “the blouse” lately. I talked about one of my favorite styles in this post. This has never been a style that I have worn repeatedly, but recently I can’t get enough! I think it’s because the high waist pants are so “in” right now and I love having a flowy blouse tucked in. It’s just a more pulled together look than leaving it out.

This blouse is from Loft (where I have been finding most of my blouses) and I love the soft blush hue. I have worn it to work with my lace pants and pink trench for a more professional look. For the weekend I paired it with my wide leg jeans and this cream sweater. I love finding things that I can wear both to work and on the weekends. I bought this shirt on Friday and have already worn it 3 times. That means it’s a good find!

My cream sweater is another piece that I get so much wear out of. I love it over spring dresses when it’s not quite warm enough to wear them on their own. But it’s also great with tops. The slits up the sides give the sweater a little more interest, but can also be a little boxy. So I just pair it with my more fitted jeans.

What styles are you most excited about for Spring? I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Hubby just got home so I’m ready to spend some good quality time together. Thanks for stopping by! xo Bryn
