Spring Trench Coat

With half of the country getting hit with a massive snow storm I think it’s safe to say most of us are ready for spring. Even though it’s not quite warm enough to break out the off the shoulder tops, I’ve shifted my color palette to more spring hues. In the winter my neutrals include cognac, black, and navy. When it’s warmer I go for light grays, creams and blush. Blush is my color of choice in the spring and I definitely consider it a neutral because it pairs so well with other colors.

On Wednesday I talked about my love for the classic combination of blue and white. It’s always so fresh and perfect for spring. I have found so many great spring pieces already this year like this striped button up. It’s just not warm enough yet to wear them without a layer or two. While I want to wear my new spring clothes, I still need to say warm during this transition. Enter the trench coat.

The trench coat is a must have for spring. It’s generally a pretty rainy season and has cooler temps but not cold enough for a true coat. I love trench coats and would have one in every color if I could. The classic trench is a wardrobe essential but I also think it’s fun to add a pop of color. As I said already, blush is my go-to neutral for spring so I couldn’t pass up this darling blush trench coat (under $70). I took this trench with me to San Francisco and wore it every day. It’s surprisingly warm when I layer it, but it’s also perfect with just a light shirt.

Since I always have my eye out for a great blush piece, I saw these loafers and ordered them immediately. I used to spend so much money on heels, but I have to admit I have bought way more flats recently. It’s just more practical and I’ve gotten more interested in comfort. But that doesn’t mean I want to sacrifice style! I love the fun patterns on these and of course the color. They also come in a beautiful blue.

We might still be in winter but I’m channeling spring as much as I can. Now I just need the flowers to start blooming and I’ll really be happy! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for reading! xo Bryn
