It’s the week of Christmas and I’m still wondering where the time has gone. I spent the weekend finishing up my shopping and wrapping everyone’s gifts. I always try to slow down and savor this time of year, but I do get caught up in the hustle and bustle. The cold front that blew in this weekend definitely helped me slow down. With the temperature dropping all I wanted to do was curl up with my hot cocoa and stare at my Christmas tree.
This week I wanted to share this festive look with you. I wore this fun skirt to my company Christmas party and fell in love with it. This is a big contender for my Christmas Eve outfit. My family has always “dressed” for Christmas Eve. We never miss an opportunity to get a little dressed up. It makes the day feel a little more special.
Typically I will go for a holiday dress but this year I’m leaning towards the mini. I have been loving skirts lately, especially when I can pair them with snuggly sweaters. I love the hint of metallic around the holidays. It’s subtle but still mimics the shimmer from the season’s decor.
I will note that this skirt runs very small. I shop at Loft consistently and know my size, but after reading the reviews I went up two sizes like most reviews suggested.
When I saw these Steve Madden “Pampered” heel, I knew I needed them. I didn’t have a pair of black, closed toed heels so they were a great purchase. The chunky heels makes them much more comfortable, too.

I am so with you! Where has December gone? I know that it is normally a blur but MAN! This year it really feels like it’s out of control! Love this outfit and those shoes! My family is very casual. While we don’t wear our sweats or pjs, it wouldn’t be frowned upon on Christmas Day! But my boyfriends family is the dressy type so I always have to find something cute to wear for dinner with them.
