This time of year is always a little more glam than the rest of the year. Maybe it’s all of the layering but I think it has to do with all of the swanky Holiday parties. We have already been to a few this month and each party has its own feel. There is nothing better than getting a little dressed up and spending an evening with great food and great conversation. That is what the holidays are all about, after all!
For my holiday style I like to go with what’s currently on trend but with a little twist. The pleated skirt is everywhere this year. It’s such a fun style that can be worn so many different ways. I love it paired with a chunky knit and booties for a more casual look. For a Holiday party I wanted to dress it up more with a turtleneck and a fun pair of shoes.
Most people gravitate towards the reds, greens and golds around the holidays so this beautiful dusty rose color is unexpected. This is one of my favorite colors to wear. Rose Quartz was one of the 2016 Pantone Color of the Year for 2016 so I am getting the most of out it that I can.
There are so many amazing pleated skirt options in stores right now. I went for the satin material because I love the way it flows and it just feels so glam. With velvet being another huge trend this season I love the idea of combining the two. I have been crushing on this pleated velvet skirt in a gorgeous hunter green.
The cold shoulder top is another big trend so I paired this one from Chicwish with the skirt. I wanted to keep the top more fitted since the skirt is so flowy. The turtle neck is one of my favorite styles to wear with skirts because it keeps everything so clean and simple. The cold shoulder brings a little sexy to the look.
These blush and gold heels are one of my favorite pairs this year! We all know I love blush, but add in the chunky gold heel and the plush velvet and I am sold! These shoes are the best example of how shoes can totally transform a look. A black heel would have been pretty, but too safe. The holiday’s are the best time to add a little more glitz and that’s what these heels do.
My camel coat is always my go-to! In my large coat collection, I don’t own a black dress coat. I have always preferred the camel. It’s unexpected but also so classic. I love the way it plays off of the dusty rose in my skirt and almost takes on a blush hue.
With all of the holiday parties, company socials, and family gatherings it’s the perfect time of year to add a little more glam into your wardrobe. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite holiday approved skirts below. Hope you have a great week! xo Bryn
