With all of the ups and down the weather has been giving us lately, it’s safe to say I am still in full layering mode. One piece that I look forward to bringing out every fall season is the poncho. To me the poncho is the easiest way to layer without committing to a jacket. I wore this look over the weekend when the mornings were perfectly fall: crisp and breezy! Unfortunately, by mid afternoon I was shedding my layers.
I haven’t always loved the poncho because it can be so full on top and really doesn’t give you any shape. But last year I purchased this one and I haven’t looked back since. I have just learned to keep the rest of my outfit simple and more form-fitting. My black skinny jeans, OTK boots and chambray shirt are great basics for a printed poncho.
The poncho has really made a big splash this fall. With so many choices from plaid to fringe it will be easy to find one that fits your style. I’m currently coveting this one from J.Crew. It has armholes so it’s almost more like a cape!
I have rounded up a few of my favorite ponchos for you since mine is from last year. All of the ponchos are under $100!
With Thanksgiving right around the corner (still can’t believe it’s next week) I am planning out my outfit. I’m thinking a poncho and stretchy leggings might be the way to go! You will look chic but underneath you’re really just prepared for all the delicious food you’ll be eating.
After Thanksgiving starts the major shopping days, so I am working on several shopping guides to help round-up the sales. I will continue to post gift guides next week as well. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! We’re planning on putting up our Christmas tree (I know it’s early) but I want to do it while Brian is home and can enjoy it for a while, too. See you back here on Monday! xo Bryn
