Zero George Hotel in Charleston

Our trip to Charleston would not have been quite so sweet without our stay at the incredibly charming Zero George hotel. This hotel has been on my travel Pinterest board for months. From the first image I saw of the beautiful drawing room, I knew this hotel was made for me. Our Charleston getaway really happened as a result of a wedding we were going to in Pawley’s Island, SC, which is only about an hour and half away from Charleston. I have wanted to visit this amazing city for such a long time so I quickly convinced Brian that we could extend our weekend and drive down.

Whenever I travel I love to stay in hotels that really evoke the feeling of whatever city I am in. It really becomes a part of the whole experience and that is why I felt like the Zero George was worth the splurge. The Zero George is a collection of historic homes that have been converted into the most quintessential Southern hotel. From the covered front porches with plush couches, to the original crown molding in the drawing room, this hotel was perfect.

The overall experience was first class! Every morning we would wake up and start our day with the most delicious European style breakfast (all complimentary) complete with fresh biscuits provided by a local favorite, Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit. We would set out for our day of exploring and return in the evenings for happy hour. As if I needed another reason to love this hotel… free wine and cheese?!

In true southern style, we dressed for dinner. This gorgeous lace dress was one of my favorites from the trip. I love that it combines the crop top trend with the sophistication of the lace and midi silhouette. Since it is one piece, the mesh underlay keeps the look classy. I had also worn this to the wedding and received so many compliments on it.

I have a tendency to overdress, even when I travel, so I loved staying in such a beautiful place. It only felt appropriate to try and match the beauty of our surroundings.

The staff and service at the Zero George were amazing! No detail was too small. Our room was incredibly beautiful and luxurious, but it did happen to boarder a busy road. It was something Brian and I noticed just after checking in but didn’t say anything. We knew we would be so exhausted from walking all day to loose sleep over it. We returned from dinner each night to find our room turned down complete with sound machine, earplugs on the nightstands, individual waters and snacks waiting for us. Don’t even get me started on the robes and cozy slippers!

While the Zero George may seem like quite the splurge, we felt like we more than got our money’s worth. It felt like a home more than a hotel and it made our Charleston experience, that much more magical. I can’t wait to go back for another stay!
