If you saw my post on Friday, then you know that I am loving J.Crew’s new fall collection! I don’t think there is anyone that can top J.Crew in the pattern mixing department. They always come up with the most unexpected, yet perfectly paired collections and this season is one of the best I have seen in a while. I have always gone to J.Crew for great basics, but recently they have become my go-to for fun, unique pieces. If you love patterns and bold colors then you have to check out the J.Crew x Drake’s Collection. Drake’s is an English brand that is known for their handcrafted men’s accessories like ties, scarves and pocket squares. This is the first time they have ever done a women’s line and how exciting that it’s with J.Crew!?
The line includes a collection of amazing prints that they used on flats, scarves and women’s clothing. They tapped into the pajama trend that is all the rage right now for a couple matching sets. This set is my favorite. I love the wine color for fall; it’s so rich!
When I saw these Gemma flats, I knew I had to have them. The colors in the print are amazing and can tie in so many different looks. I decided to keep them casual this weekend with my denim skirt and striped tee, but they can easily be dressed up since the pointy toe and satin material have such a luxurious feel. They are extremely comfortable and required very little breaking in. They do run just a tad large, I probably could have gone down a half size.
J.Crew has really been inspiring me lately with the way that they mix colors and patterns. I used to be much more conservative when it came to buying prints because I felt like I was limiting myself, but my strategy has been to buy prints in colors that coordinate with what is currently on rotation in my closet. Blush and pink tones will always be in my closet, that’s a given, but I am loving this emerald green for fall. It pairs beautifully with pinks and brings a fun pop of color, so I knew these flats would be put to good use. The wine pair is also amazing, you can’t make a wrong decision!

I love pattern mixing! As you said, I too used to be slightly scared of going too far with it and stuck with neutrals instead, but I’ve since expanded my print collection. They just make a look so much more exciting!
