There is a sweetness that arrives in the first hints of summer… the smell of sunscreen, the buzzing of June bugs and the signs of snow cone stands popping up along the road all reminding us that a heat wave is coming. I love summer and all of its vibrance.
Today marks the official first day of summer and in celebration Texas gave us 100 degrees over the weekend! My idea of beating the heat was popsicles, in more ways than one. This dress from Anthropologie is one of my favorites for summer because of the cute little popsicle print. I love the little pops of color (pun intended) against the white.
A classic shirtdress is always a safe buy. It’s a great style for a casual summer day. The tie waist and pleated skirt are feminine and flattering. This has always been one of my favorite dress styles. I also love this solid version.
I couldn’t pass up the opportunity of visiting Steel City Pops in my popsicle dress. It just wouldn’t be right! I always associate popsicles with the beginning of summer. I can still remember hearing the jingle from the ice cream truck and running out to the street with all of the other kids on my block to grab something to cool off. I always got the orange creamsicle.
