It’s been a beautiful (slightly stormy) Memorial weekend in Dallas. Hubby and I were guests at a wedding on Sunday at the Dallas Arboretum so we decided to go down a little early and walk the gardens. I love spending time wandering the gardens and enjoying all of the beautiful flowers that are in bloom. The fragrance from the honey suckle bushes and the magnolia trees was truly intoxicating.
One of my favorite gardens is the rose garden. It’s quiet and peaceful and I felt right at home in my embroidered rose dress from Chicwish. I have had this dress in my closet for a while but have been waiting for the right occasion to wear it… I think a spring wedding at the arboretum was just perfect!
I love dresses that have a vintage feel. The sweetheart neckline with the embroidered overlay is such a classic look and I always appreciate dresses with sleeves for outdoor, evening weddings because you never know what the temperature might dip down to. I added a silk ribbon around my waist and my Dior inspired double pearl earrings to accessorize the look.
When I am selecting a dress to wear to a wedding I always look for something within the bride’s color scheme and stay away from any color that could be considered white (sounds like a no-brainer but not always the case). I also tend to wear dresses that are more romantic to weddings, maybe I feel nostalgic for my own wedding, or maybe it’s just the love in the air, but I am always drawn to dresses that bring out the romance.
This particular dress is currently out of stock but I have linked to a couple of similar styles below.
We had a wonderful time celebrating our friends’ marriage in a beautiful venue… Couldn’t ask for a better way to spend the evening. I hope you are all enjoying your Memorial Weekend! Thanks for reading! xo Bryn
