Happy Monday Everyone!
While I was researching for our trip to Fredericksburg (more on that here) I came across a beautiful vineyard that also grows lavender. Now, you may not know but I am madly in love with all things French and it is a dream of mine to visit the lavender fields in Provence, so when I heard we have our own lavender fields here in Texas I knew I had to visit.
I do have to say this particular field was quite a bit smaller compared to those in Provence but I still enjoyed the smell of lavender wafting around the vineyard. I have heard of larger fields in a neighboring town that start opening late May so I might just have to make another trip back to Hill Country this summer.
The Becker Vineyard itself is very impressive! The property is gorgeous and extensive. Driving down the gravel road you pass rows of grape vines and are greeted by the most beautiful white stone building. The tasting room was filled with people so we quickly squeezed by and made our way out to the fields to enjoy the sunshine.
The poppies all over Hill Country were in full bloom (last seen here) and were such a bright contrast to the lavender. We spent our time walking around the property and enjoying the flowers rather than joining the crowds for a tasting.
When I was shopping for our trip I knew I wanted comfortable dresses that I could be in walking around outside but also could transition to dinner on Main St. This dress is from the Target + Who What Wear collection and felt very Parisian strolling through the lavender. The stripe is sold out online but the black is still available.
I scored this perfect Zhuu pouch during the Shopbop Friends & Family and used it as a clutch for the weekend. I also love the totes… I might need this one.
This was by far the warmest afternoon we had while we were there so we looked for a spot to cool off by the Lavender Haus. This part of the grounds was less crowded with people covering the lawn with picnic blankets and resting under the trees.
Also, if you can’t tell I am quite obsessed with my boater hat. I love hats but seem to only wear them when I’m traveling. I prefer to wear a hat to keep the sun out of my eyes rather than seeing everything through my sunglasses.
